2025 Utilities Operator Position

The City of Tonganoxie is recruiting for an internal or external candidate to fill a Utilities Operator full-time position.

The position requires a high school diploma/GED and a valid Kansas Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) or the ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months. No previous job experience is required but one to three years of water and wastewater treatment plant experience or related work experience is preferred. The position operates equipment and is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled duties in the maintenance and repair of the Water/Wastewater Plant and for supplying a safe form of potable water for the City, performing laboratory tests, and maintaining utility equipment & infrastructure. For more information about Utilities Operator positions please review the attached Utilities Operator Job Description.
