Temporary Water Service Disruption during Repairs - Vicinity of Shawnee Street and 5th Street - Update - Services Restored

As of 05:30 PM on August 13, 2026 the repairs were completed and water services should be restored in this area. 

On August 13, 2026 there was a water main leak located near the intersection of 5th Street and Shawnee Street. Residents in this area may experience an interruption in their water service. Tonganoxie Public Works staff are working to repair the issue starting at approximately 1:15 PM on August 13 and anticipate that water service will be restored within 3 hours. The areas expected to be temporarily without water service include the 100 & 200 block of 5th Street and the 500 block of Shawnee Street as depicted in the attached map.
