About the Mayor

The mayor serves as the chair of all public meetings of the city council and guides the agenda. The position of Mayor makes several appointments to boards and commissions with the consent of the City Council but does not typically vote on agenda items except in the case of a tie vote of the City Council. 

The Mayor's current term expires in 2028. Terms officially expire on the second Monday in January.
