Safe Neighborhoods for Animals and People
The City of Tonganoxie has adopted a Safe Neighborhoods for Animals and People Ordinance. In part it states there will be no animals allowed to run at large and no barking which becomes a nuisance. Pit Bulls and Rotweillers or any mix breed of Pit Bulls or Rotweillers are not allowed within the City limits. All cats and dogs must have a city license and be registered. Open registration is in April, at that time the fee is $5 for all neutered and spayed animals and $10 for animals that are not. You may register your animal at any other time throughout the year, the fee is $10 for spayed or neutered animals and $15 for those not spayed or neutered. You must bring in current proof of rabies vaccination at the time of registration.
