The Planning Department provides a focal point of all development within the City by providing coordination between the members of the community/developer and various City departments. The Planning Department prepares and submits land use related reports to the City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. The Planning Department is primarily responsible for administering all land use related ordinances and statutes in adherence to the policies established by the City Council while employing such managerial techniques needed to assure efficient utilization of the City's resources.
