The Tonganoxie Fire Department has an ongoing need for personnel with diverse skills. And we realize that not everyone will possess all those skills. Every firefighter should be of sound physical condition, able to drive large trucks and have a passing understanding of water hydraulics. It would also be helpful if the applicant has an understanding of various building construction types and does not have a fear of heights.To find a sense of belonging, achievement and self respect; feel the challenge of helping to bring an emergency situation under control; know the reward of saving a family and their home from the destruction of fire; whatever your reason, you are encouraged to apply to become a member of this proud organization.

Your application will be evaluated by officers of the department. Chief Bennett and other officers will then interview you. In any case, you will be informed of your acceptance or denial in a timely manner.
