Tonganoxie Kicks Off Holiday Season with Mayor's Tree Lighting on Nov. 19

Posted by jshockley at Nov 15, 2016 09:15 AM |

Kick off the holiday season with Mayor Jason Ward at the annual Mayor's Tree Lighting event. The festivities will commence on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the downtown pocket park. This FREE event is a holiday tradition of Christmas carols, carriage rides, visits with Santa in a winter wonderland, musical and dance performances, food trucks, balloon creations, a human-sized hamster wheel, crafts at the library, and more. Visitors can also enjoy a holiday story written by local business owners as they stroll down Fourth Street. This story can be found on the windows of the downtown businesses, which will begin and end at City Hall.

Our great lineup of entertainment and performances is as follows:

3:00 p.m.             BJ the DJ kicks off the event with holiday music
3:30 p.m.             Chieftain Singers
4:00 p.m.             Tonganoxie Elementary School Choir
