Domestic disturbance in Tonganoxie

Tonganoxie, Kansas (Feb. 4, 2016) – On Feb. 3, 2016, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Tonganoxie police were dispatched to 604 River Street for a domestic disturbance involving a gun.

When officers arrived on scene, Tim Detrick, a 77-year old male, vacated the residence with visible injuries to the head. The individual was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Ryan Detrick, the victim’s 39-year old son, remained in the home and maintained a stand-off with law enforcement officers for nearly five hours. With the assistance of the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office and the Basehor Police Department, the man was arrested. He was found to also have injuries as a result of the initial altercation with his father, and he was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This case remains under investigation by the Tonganoxie Police Department and Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office. If anyone has additional information regarding this case, please call the Tonganoxie Police Department at 913-369-3754.
