Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting November 22!

Posted by nmccommon at Nov 19, 2014 08:20 PM |
Come celebrate together!

Everyone is invited to join Mayor Jason Ward as he lights the Mayor's Christmas Tree this coming Saturday, November 22, from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM.  Come early and stay long!

All along 4th Street downtown, there will be musical performances from Tonganoxie high school, middle school, and elementary school.  Actors will dress in holiday character  of the Whoville theme.  There will be carriage rides and carolers.  We will enjoy special appearances of Santa Claus and the Grinch in the city council chambers!

Take the walking tour around downtown and read the Whoville story!  Area merchants will line the streets and stay open late. Take advantage of some good cooking from tent vendors as well as the sponsoring restaurants of Flashback's and Talette's.

Mayor Ward will flip the switch right at dusk.  Following the official lighting, there will be hot cocoa, socializing, and caroling at the Jewel on Main theater!

Direct your questions to city hall at (913) 845-2620.
