City Council Invite Public Input on Curbside Recycling Program

Posted by jjones-lacy at May 22, 2014 05:20 PM |
Residents are invited to share their input on a program at the Council Meeting on Monday, June 2 at 7 p.m.

Starting in October, the City will have the opportunity to begin a curbside recycling program for residents. The City's solid waste contractor Honey Creek Disposal will provide each participating resident a single bin where they can recycle plastics, paper, cardboard, cans, and glass bottles.

City Council has the option of accepting one of two proposals:

  1. City-wide curbside recycling program for an additional $2.25/month per household.
  2. Voluntary curbside recycling program for an additional $4.00/month per participating household.

Both programs provide one 65 gallon cart for single stream recycling, unlimited amounts of recycling and every other week pick up.

The current residential solid waste bill is $15/month.
