2019 Public Works Seasonal Laborer

The City of Tonganoxie is looking for an individual skilled in general maintenance who will be responsible for grounds keeping, street patching, repairing water main breaks, and assisting in other duties as necessary in 2019. The position will report to the Public Works Director and the position is classified as seasonal.

For positions requiring college education as part of the minimum requirement and/or an equivalency, the minimum education requirement is high school graduation. The requirement of "high school graduation" also includes the state-issued GED certificate.

Unless otherwise stated, the requirement of "an accredited" degree includes only those degrees obtained from colleges or universities listed with the U. S. Department of Education and recognized by the U. S. Secretary of Education.

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless otherwise specified.

All positions require successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background and references check.  Candidates for positions that operate City vehicles will also have to pass a drivers license background check.
